Nigeria flood: thousands in dire need of basic life support

Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) is on the ground with our volunteers helping fellow Nigerians affected by the ongoing devastating floods across 34 out of 37 states.

A rapid assessment conducted by our 37 Branches across the country shows that at least 241,000 households have been affected with over 19,000 households displaced.

Many of the affected persons, who are yet to come to terms with the situation they found themselves, are in makeshift camps set up in schools or with host communities and in dire need of food, cloth and other basic life support. Their means of livelihood and homes have been wiped out. They have no safe drinking water. Thus, cholera outbreak has been announced in six states.
